My Mind Was Changed About This Film Sim | From X-Pro2 to X100VI

The film sim is ACROS, and I have a confession: when Fujifilm first introduced it back in the X-Pro2 days, I could not connect with it.

That bugged me, because I am a film shooter from the Neopan era. I loved real Neopan. It was cheaper than Kodak, which is probably why I loved it, but still. ACROS the film sim just never clicked.

“But then I thought to myself, after seeing this comment” … a viewer made me reconsider. So I tried ACROS again, this time on the newer X-Trans sensor in the X100VI.

Mind changed.

My theory: Fujifilm “needed to progress that sensor to get it to the point where it looks like the old Acros film.” Whatever the reason, the black-and-white files coming out of the X100VI are gorgeous. There is a montage of them in the video.

Sometimes the comments section is right. Do not tell them I said that.
