CCD Camera Sensor Unboxing: Nikon 10 Megapixel D80

“Think you need 50 megapixels to shoot great photos? Think again.”

This is the unboxing of the legendary Nikon D80. Ten point two megapixels. CCD sensor. From 2006. And it has “that rich, film-like CCD sensor magic” that modern cameras keep trying to fake with presets.

Consider this a raw unboxing ASMR. Hands, box, camera. No test charts, no pixel-peeping. Does it take good pictures? That is the question we are going to answer.

Because this D80 is being prepped for battle. Coming soon: the CCD Sensor Showdown, D80 versus the Canon PowerShot S95. Old sensor versus old sensor. May the best CCD win.

Can 10 megapixels from 2006 still hold its ground today? I think you know my answer already.
