Want to be a better photographer? Stop carrying extra batteries.
Film taught us patience. Twenty-four exposures on a roll, and every press of the shutter cost real money. You slowed down. You watched. You thought about the composition before the camera ever came up.
Digital taught us the opposite. “Spray and pray.” Fire off four hundred frames and hope one of them is good. We have all done it.
Here is my challenge: shoot with one battery. A single battery changes your mindset. You stop burning through frames and start being intentional. You wait for the moment instead of machine-gunning the moment.
It is not about being reckless. It is about being deliberate.
Next time you go out, leave the spares at home. Then report back. You might be surprised what happens when every frame has to count.
