Three thousand shots on the X100VI. I have owned it since launch week, ordered within six hours. A full time job limits my shooting.
Accessories: a square lens hood that needed two rubber bands to align, not one. I am a dumbass. A base plate for grip, feels very secure. A red plunger fell off on camera.
This camera draws attention. What is that? Is that a film camera? I am not clandestine. From my cold dead fingers.
I am a Fuji user from way back. X-Pro2, X-E2, X-T4, X-H2. The retro tactile dials suit a lifetime film shooter. I owned and sold the X100T, the F, the S. I bought the VI for the 40 megapixel sensor, same as my X-H2.
The irony: I am now a long lens street guy, 70 to 200, for intimate moments, yet I love the fixed lens X100VI as a fully enjoyable experience.
The secret feature: I assigned the lens side button to toggle the built in neutral density filter. Same area starts and stops video. The ND lets me shoot wide open bokeh on bright days, and it helps video production for my upcoming Portugal trip, Porto and Lisbon.
I shoot little video, mostly phone, but I will use the X100VI for video in Portugal. In a foreign country I will stash it low in a backpack rather than around my neck like a pretty necklace. I am also taking the Canon R8 with the 35mm and my brand new 70-200. Review coming.
I wake at 3:15 AM and sleep at 8:30 PM, so I only get golden hour when I travel.
Three thousand shots in, very pleased. Mine is for sale for five hundred thousand dollars.
