Everybody and their cousin shoots a Ricoh GR III, and everybody thinks I should too. So let me explain why I am saying no. For now. Probably. Do not hold me to this.
First, the dust issue. It is a real thing with these cameras, little spots showing up on the sensor because the lens extends and retracts and the world is full of dust. For a camera this expensive, that bothers me.
Second, I already own cameras that do this job. I have got small cameras. I have got sharp lenses. Buying a GR III would not fill a gap in my bag, it would fill a gap in my self-control.
Third, the price. They are not cheap, and the used market knows exactly what it has. I am the casual camera guy, not the pay-a-premium-for-hype guy.
So no. I am not buying a Ricoh GR III. My wallet and I have an understanding.
