The New Fujifilm 16-55mm f/2.8? Who Needs It?

Fujifilm came out with a new 16-55mm f/2.8, and everybody wants to know what I think. Here is what I think.

The original is the OG. The mac daddy. The greatest lens I have ever shot with. My red badge XF 16-55mm f/2.8.

That f/2.8 collects all that light. Incredible. The bokeh. The versatility. It was the first lens I bought when I switched to Fujifilm and it has stayed with me ever since.

Here is my advice: buy the original used on MPB. The deals are the best right now because the new one just came out and everybody is upgrading.

I do not like the new version’s selling points. When I hear smaller and I hear lighter, I think shittier. I like heft. I like feeling the camera in my hands.

I shot this video on my Fujifilm X-T4, one of my favorite cameras of all time, with the OG 16-55 on the front.

That lens is amazing in every year, every day. Get a hold of one. It is a red badge. Incredible lens. And the comments agree with me. Everybody says keep the old one if you have it.
