Nobody asked me for advice, which is exactly why I am giving it.
The hard truth is that your camera does not matter nearly as much as you think it does. I know, because I own an embarrassing number of cameras, and the good pictures did not start showing up when I bought the expensive one. They showed up when I started shooting every day.
Here is another one. Nobody is coming to discover you. There is no scout watching your feed, waiting to hand you a career. The algorithm does not care about your art. If you want to be a photographer, you have to do the unglamorous part, which is taking ten thousand bad pictures until the good ones start sneaking in.
And the hardest truth of all. The work is the reward. If you are only shooting for likes, followers, or brand deals, you will quit within a year, because the likes are fickle and the brand deals go to somebody’s nephew.
Shoot because you like seeing. Everything else is a bonus. That is the truth, whether you are young or not.
