The Ricoh GR IV Monochrome. Don’t Waste Your Money.

Yes, the irony is noted. The man with the worst Gear Acquisition Syndrome in history is about to tell you not to buy a camera.

Your Ricoh GR III, and the GR IV you may have just bought, already have an incredible range of monochrome settings. Plain black and white. High contrast. Soft. Hard. Four variations, and they shoot all the black and white most of us will ever need.

People in the comments say the monochrome sensor is different. I know it is different. But sometimes good enough is good enough.

Do you need a $1,500 camera that only shoots black and white? If that is you, more power to you. Give me the finger in the comments. It is fine. But watch these settings first.
