Ricoh GR III Snap Focus: Struggle Bus to Sharp Shots

One meter is 3.3 feet. Two meters is 6.6. Three and a half meters is a basketball goal laid down flat. That is how an American learns snap focus distances, because we never learned the metric system in this country and I refuse to start now.

This Ricoh GR III is the most frustrating camera I have ever tried to learn. I also had it set on highlight priority metering without realizing it, shooting in the shadows, wondering why my exposure compensation was not doing anything. Once I figured that out and got it on sane metering, everything got better.

I walked in here fully prepared to hate on this camera one more time, maybe even sell it. I am not a run and gunner anymore. But then I looked at the pictures. I stayed inside that ten feet, I did a little run and gun, and I am pleased with them.

Struggle bus. But it arrives.
