I was today years old, whatever that means, when I found out Ken Griffey Jr. is a credentialed sideline sports photographer. NFL games. Major League Baseball. The Masters. The Ryder Cup. Did not know.
Which sent me down the rabbit hole of famous people with serious second lives in photography. Kenny Rogers shot portraits of famous people and put out a book. (I liked Kenny better before the face work, but that is another video.) Jeff Bridges shoots those incredible wide-format photos on a Widelux and honestly might be more photographer than actor. Jason Momoa posts moody black and white and collects vintage cameras, so we have that in common. Bryan Adams has shot Kate Moss and Queen Elizabeth. Lenny Kravitz is a real photographer too, and he is the one who turned Momoa onto it.
Photography gets everybody eventually.
