The Leica Q in 2026: 11 Years Old. Still Beautiful.

Bless your heart.

That is what I said. In my head. (Okay, mostly in my head.)

I was out walking last week with my Leica Q when a guy comes up, all excited. “Oh wow, is that the Q3?” Nope. “Oh, the Q2! Great camera. Smart buy. Save a little money.”

Also nope.

“This,” I told him, “is the Leica Q. The original. The OG. From back in 2015.”

And he just went, “Oh. Okay.”

Bless your heart.

Here is the part I wanted to say out loud. Let me show you the pictures. Not the camera. The pictures. I wanted to turn that Q around and show him what an 11 year old camera makes in 2026. That would have ended the conversation right there.

Because here is the thing nobody wants to admit. Every camera catches light. Every camera has its color profile. Every camera has its look. And every camera does something a little bit different with all of it.

Of every camera I have ever owned, in 55 years of owning a camera (do the math, I was a teenager when the first one landed in my hands), not one of them makes pictures that look like this one does.

So do you need a Q2? Do you need a Q3? Do you need anything else? (You know my answer. The answer is the pictures.)

Everybody has that one camera. The one you promise yourself you will never trade in, never sell. The one that sits in the camera bag forevermore.

Mine is a Q.

Is it yours?
