The X-Pro2 is the camera I reach for when I want to feel like a photographer from a better era. Hybrid viewfinder, real dials, that satisfying mechanical clunk. It takes wonderful pictures, especially the JPEGs, which is all I shoot.
So is it still good in 2025? Yes. Completely. The sensor holds up, the colors are classic Fuji, and the shooting experience is the best argument for the camera. Nobody buys an X-Pro2 for the spec sheet. You buy it because it makes you want to go take pictures.
But worth over a thousand dollars? That is where I get itchy. The used market lost its mind a few years ago, and the X-Pro2 floated up with it. It is a great camera. It is not a thousand-dollars-great camera, not when that money gets you into newer bodies with better autofocus and video you will never use but still.
My rule is simple. Does it take good pictures? Yes. Is the price sane? That is between you and your wallet. If you find a clean one at a fair price, you will love it. Just do not pay the nostalgia tax.
