The Exposure Triangle is Obsolete. And for Nerds | Top Photography Tip for Beginners

Bold statement time. I get paid for bold statements. My listeners call them idiotic statements, but here we are.

The exposure triangle is obsolete. It is for nerds.

ISO, and I say ISO, International Standards Organization, used to be ASA for the old heads, is the last thing you need to worry about on any camera built in the last decade. Your camera shoots amazing pictures at ISO 6400. Set it to auto, cap it if it makes you feel better.

What is left? Shutter speed and aperture. Learn what depth of field is. Learn what stops the action. That is the whole game now.

The triangle had its day. Retire it.
