Does the SmallRig Lav Mic Sound Any Good?

I keep a SmallRig lav mic in my camera bag because you never know when you need to talk into a camera on a noisy street. The question is always the same: does it actually sound good, or is it just small and cute?

So I did what I do. I took it outside, clipped it on, walked around, and talked. No lab, no charts, no waveform analysis. Just real world audio in real world conditions, which is the only review that matters for a mic like this.

Verdict is in the video. What I will say here is that audio gear is like camera gear. Nobody listening cares about the frequency response chart. They care whether they can hear you clearly without the city eating your voice. Watch the test and judge with your own ears.

And yes, I know there are fancier options. I own fancier options. But the best mic is the one you actually brought, and this one lives in my bag. That counts for a lot.
