If I hear one more person call the Canon R8 an entry-level camera, I am driving to somebody’s house.
This is not an entry-level camera, and you should not be ashamed to buy it because the internet told you it was one. The internals are the same internals as the R6 Mark II. Same full-frame sensor. Same DIGIC X processor. Same focusing system. Same professional guts, smaller jacket.
Oh, but it’s small, so it’s a travel camera. It is the same size as the Fujifilm X-T5, and nobody calls that a travel camera.
The knock is no in-body stabilization. Most RF lenses have stabilization built in, four or five stops, which is all you need. And if you cannot handhold a camera at a fifth of a second, what are you doing with a camera in your hand?
Entry level is a marketing label. The R8 is a professional sensor wearing a smaller body. Stop apologizing for it.
