PetaPixel put together the best trail cam photos of 2024, and they are amazing. But when I do these compilation look-backs, I always want to credit the photographer, and here I have a question. Do you credit the photographer who strapped the camera to the tree, or the tree?

Look at this fisher. Not exactly sure what a fisher is. Weasel? Fox? Otter? They went near extinct, got reintroduced, came back slowly, and here’s the tidbit I learned from this article. The fisher is the only animal that can truly hunt, kill, and eat a porcupine. Respect.
There’s an uncontacted tribe deep in the Amazon putting up spears to let the world know they’d like to stay uncontacted. Can’t say I blame them.
And a massive, thick black bear who looks like he’s got a thyroid problem or just finished Thanksgiving dinner by himself.
Trail cams. The photographer is a tree, and the tree is doing great work.
