This will be the dumbest video you watch today, guaranteed.
I wanted the square lens hood for the X100VI. It came with an adapter ring, which I put on with a black mist filter, and a rubber band that I assume is supposed to be on there because they gave me a second one. Screw the adapter ring in. Tight. Good.
Then the hood goes on, and here is where it falls apart. When you screw on a square lens hood, you would like it to end up, call me crazy, square. Go too far, it’s crooked that way. Back off, it’s loose as anything. There is a position where it’s slightly less crooked, and that’s the best I’ve got.
What am I doing wrong, fellas? Any thoughts? Help? Anybody?
Spoiler from the future. The second rubber band was not a spare. But that humiliation is in the next video.
