Your photography news of the day is this guy, who climbed the outside of a 630 foot bridge.
Climbing a bridge should be your first indication something’s a little off. A photographer who doesn’t seem to understand that drones exist. You want a photo from the top of a 630 foot bridge? Let the drone do the work.
He fell, and died, and they’re calling it accidental. I have a problem with that word. When someone dies doing something they knew was illegal and dangerous, on a rain-soaked slippery bridge they weren’t allowed to climb, where exactly is the accident part? He knew what he was doing.
And they say it’s good to die doing what you love. Wouldn’t you rather die doing what you hate? At least then you’re not ruining the thing you love with your death on it.
His people said, and I love this quote, “he knew his limits and never did anything beyond them.” He climbed the outside of a 630 foot bridge in the rain. Those were his limits?
Tragic for his family. But let’s file it correctly. This wasn’t an accident. It was a consequence.
