Thousands of creators are walking away from Lightroom and Photoshop, and honestly, most photographers do not need them anymore. Here is why.
First, the trust issue. The Adobe terms-of-service controversy freaked everybody out: privacy, data scanning, the fear that your private unpublished work ends up training somebody’s AI model. That is a lot to swallow for ten or twenty bucks a month.
Second, phones changed the game. Snapseed and on-device processing give you professional results with zero lag and no monthly fee. I edit on my phone. It works.
Third, the files. High-quality JPEGs are more than good enough for most digital platforms. I shoot JPEG only. Massive RAW files tethered to a desk? Unnecessary for most of us.
