“Are these the most debated topics in photography? I got five of…” them, and photographers will fight about these until the end of time.
Film versus digital. Film people talk about soul and discipline and intention. Digital people call film slow, expensive, and fake nostalgia. Me? Once I went digital I never went back. Shooting film now just reminds me what digital can do. Romanticism versus efficiency. How long are you willing to wait?
Editing versus straight-out-of-camera. “I can’t believe there’s a crowd that thinks you shouldn’t crop your photo.” Somebody tell them about contact sheets.
Here is my position, plain and simple: I am a digital shooter, I am pro-editing, and I am impatient with purists.
Tribal arguments are fun to watch and exhausting to join. Pick your side, or do what I do and just go shoot.
