I told you not to buy the Fujifilm X-Half. And now PetaPixel has named it the number one worst camera of the year, so let the record show I was right.
$850 plus tax, over $900 out the door, for a novelty. Light leaks on purpose. Locked into film simulations for 36 or 72 exposures like it is a disposable. Our friends at the camera store say they can’t move them, and I predicted exactly where they are headed. MPB and eBay within six months at less than half price.
This camera was not made for photographers. It was not even made for Fujifilm fanboys. It was made for the aesthetic crowd. None of us woke up saying, you know what I need? A camera that does less.
It wasn’t nostalgic. It was cosplay. Overpriced, underpowered, and it just felt false in the hand.
