This one is not really about cameras. This one is about the time I got stranded on a mountain, which sounds like the opening of a survival documentary and felt a lot like one at the time.
I will spare you the full play by play, because half of it involves me making increasingly poor decisions with great confidence. The short version: I went up, something went wrong, and I spent a lot longer on that mountain than anyone planned, including me.
There is a photography lesson in here, I promise. Always bring the camera. Even when the day goes sideways, especially when the day goes sideways, the camera turns a bad day into a story. Nobody wants to hear about the hike that went fine. Everybody wants to hear about the mountain that kept me.
