Fujifilm X-Half Unboxing… kinda.

It’s happened. I don’t know how. A YouTuber with maybe a thousand subscribers, and Fujifilm sent me an X-Half.

Boom. The Fujifilm X… half. Okay, fine. It’s the Kodak Instamatic 100. In my family since the early 1960s. 126 film, a square format not far off a 35mm negative, which makes it the original X-Half, because the actual X-Half shoots on a 1-inch sensor, about half an APS-C. Half. It’s right there in the name.

I’ve had this camera forever and I am goofing off, obviously. But speaking of the real X-Half, have you seen the light leak feature? I lived through real light leaks. And I notice the fake one lands in the exact same position on every frame. Real light leaks had more self respect than that.

The Instamatic took better pictures by accident in 1965 than this feature does on purpose. There. I said it.
