You’ve heard of Bridezilla. Have you heard of the wedding photography-zilla?
Olivia Seymour, of Olivia Seymour Photography, billed multiple women, signed contracts to show up on the wedding day and shoot the wedding, took the deposits, and then simply never showed up.
I’ve shot weddings a bunch of times. My contract never said maybe a different photographer shows up. If they hire me, they want me, and I am there.
Her excuse was the same every time. I’m sick. My family is in the ER. I’m in the ER. Over and over, couple after couple, until she ran into the age of the internet, where everyone you screw over knows someone else you screwed over. The victims found each other.
She has pleaded guilty to felony theft, and I hope she goes to jail. A wedding day doesn’t come back. You can’t reshoot it next weekend. Taking that money and not showing up is not a scheduling problem. It’s theft, and now the record says so.
