Photography News of the Day | Wednesday, September 30, 2026

“Three completely different stories with one thing in common: photography is getting weirder by the day.”

Story one: parents are using AI to get around paying for school photos. The school photographer shows up, and mom and dad just generate the portrait at home. Cheaper? Sure. A little sad? Also yes.

Story two: a fake AI crocodile created very real legal trouble. A commenter on the video confirmed it happened in Singapore, writing “Singapore don’t play.” No kidding.

Story three: a couple says most of their $4,000 wedding photos simply disappeared. Four thousand dollars, gone like a memory card left in a taxi.

What ties them together is AI elbowing its way into the traditional photography business. School photos, wedding photos, the bread and butter gigs. The machines are not coming for photography. They are already here, eating the catering.

Stay sharp out there.
