Your photos are terrible. Mine are too. Everyone’s first ten thousand photos are terrible, and most people’s next ten thousand are uneven. This is not an insult. It’s the admission price.
Since the title promised ten tips and I am a man of my word, here they are, compressed: shoot every day, get closer than feels comfortable, find good light before you find subjects, stop checking the screen after every shot, learn one camera instead of collecting five, talk to people sometimes, shoot JPEG and stop fiddling, print something once in a while, steal like an artist from photographers you admire, and keep going when it’s boring.
If you want it even shorter: shoot a lot, pay attention, repeat for ten years.
The photographers you admire aren’t more talented than you. They’re just further along on the terrible-photos conveyor belt. Stay on the belt. The belt is the whole secret.
