Camera thrifting tip of the day. Stop shopping at ShopGoodwill.
I learned this the hard way, as a man with full blown Gear Acquisition Syndrome who lives by one rule. If I can find a camera for half the MPB price, I buy it. Look at it, like it, love it, keep it, or sell it and make a little money.
But ShopGoodwill is not in the spirit of Goodwill anymore. They think they are eBay. The prices start high, and I heard from someone who works there exactly how the sausage gets made. The good cameras never hit the store shelves. They get shipped off or photographed in the back and put online, and other Goodwill operations around the country bid against each other on them. Sometimes the people in the store bid up their own electronics. Especially cameras.
Draw your own conclusions. I drew mine, and I am done.
The reveal in the bag, by the way, is a Fujifilm X20. The review comes later.
