Why Do I Even Carry A Camera?

The best camera is the one you have with you. Every photographer has heard it, and I agree with it completely. I carry a camera everywhere. Usually two. The little sling, my beloved Canon PowerShot S95 with that CCD sensor your snaps will never look better than, and the X100VI.

Here is my confession. When I go out to shoot, I shoot. Thirty, forty, a hundred frames. But in daily life, when I just happen to see good light, good color, a good weirdo, I never pull the camera out for the one shot. Never. It sits right there on me and I let the moment walk by.

Roman Fox does it. Grocery store, sees it, shoots it. One frame, done.

So I am asking you, because I genuinely do not know if I am the odd one. Do you pull the camera out for the one shot? Or are you like me, armed at all times and somehow only a photographer by appointment?
